ACO Access - Urbanfil - CityCycle Service, Brisbane, QLD

ACO Access -
Urbanfil

CityCycle Service, Brisbane, QLD

CityCycle is Brisbane’s public bike share program to encourage more people to cycle around the inner city. It forms an important part of Brisbane City Council’s plan to help reduce congestion and ease parking pressures in the Central Brisbane District. A number of stations, from St Lucia to New Farm, house over 2000 bikes collectively which are accessible to the public, 24 hours a day.

Project Design Brief

Having access to the underground cable infrastructure around the bike stations, is key to the City Cycle program’s low maintenance. Secure and discreet cable pits were required at designated points adjacent to the bike stations.

ACO’s Solution

Urbanfil two-part, recessed access covers.

Benefits

Visual continuity of the streetscape pavement is preserved as the pavement material is bedded into each cover with a discreet 2mm metal edge. Four high tensile, M16 locking bolts per cover, deter unauthorised access to the cables.

Other ACO Products Installed

Cable pits.

ACO. The future of drainage

ACO Infrastructure - KerbDrain - IKEA, Marsden Park, NSW

ACO Infrastructure - KerbDrain

IKEA, Sydney Business Park, Marsden Park, NSW

IKEA is due to open its second largest Sydney store in June 2015, at the new Marsden Park Business Park, located in Sydney’s western suburbs. The store will stock over 7,600 different products and will cover an area of 28,500sqm which will include a showroom, market hall, a 450 seat restaurant, a children’s play area and parking for 850 cars.
Project Design Brief
Designers required a safe and cost effective car park, free of hazards and easily drained during wet weather.
ACO’s Solution
QK200B KerbDrain was chosen as it comprises modular Polycrete® Channels with a robust single piece construction and inlets for continuous drainage.
ACO’s Technical Services advised designers on the stormwater connection details to ensure all overland flow was captured with a minimum amount of pipework required.
Benefits
ACO’s KerbDrain allows for shallow excavation and fewer underground pipes, which provided cost savings over traditional carparks with complex falls to conventional pits. Linear drains are easier and quicker to access during maintenance. KerbDrain’s QK200B profile also inhibits vehicles from mounting the footpath. Car parks free of undulations, create a safe environment for people with trolleys
Other ACO Products Installed
Grated trench drains and cable pits.

ACO. The future of drainage

QuARTz by ACO - ShowerChannel - Geelong Hospital, VIC

QuARTz by ACO - ShowerChannel

Geelong Hospital, VIC

Geelong Hospital provides a full range of health services from emergency, acute care, primary care and aged care to rehabilitation, mental health and community services. The hospital also provides specialty services for cancer, heart and lungs. The hospital recently underwent a $26M expansion, which included three new wards with 80 beds requiring separate ensuites.

Project Design BriefACO’s design brief was to ensure that each new ensuite had efficient shower drainage to prevent flooding with the possible build-up of hair and soap scum in the drains. The drainage needed to facilitate easy and efficient cleaning by hospital staff and be securely installed into vinyl flooring.

ACO’s Solution
QuARTz by ACO, ShowerChannel and Flag grate with an integral custom-made vinyl clamp system.

Benefits

  • The Flag grate consists of large openings for the shower water to pass through.
  • The ‘V’ profile of the ShowerChannel ensures that no idle liquid sits in the bottom of the channel, preventing stagnant water and odours and also enables easy cleaning.
  • ACO custom engineered a vinyl clamp system to provide a secure joint between the vinyl floor and the stainless steel channel, approved by designer and client.

ACO’s Solution

K100 trench drainage system with modular channels configured to produce a sloped runIron Intercept Heelsafe Anti-Slip grates.

Benefits
